Ever since I can remember myself, I was passionate about swimming in the sea. Whenever we went to the beach, I never wanted to leave. I always had overwhelming sense of freedom in the water and wanted to enjoy this feeling as much as I could. So, the first year I went to the pool, I was only five, I saw the synchronised swimmers, the girls dancing in the water listening to all that wonderful music and dancing so beautifully and the next thing that you know, I was a synchronised swimmer. After some years, I became a member of the Greek National Synchronised Swimming team and remained a member for five years. Even then, I believed that synchronised swimming wasn’t just for competitions. For me, synchronised swimming should be something like ballet, an art form, a performance. In 2016, with a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, “Naiads” was born. Naiads is the team of my dreams and my chance to never leave the water…
I was a synchronized swimmer for many years, competing on a national and international level. After watching a synchronised swimming competition on TV for the first time at the age of 9, I knew that all I ever wanted to be was one of those girls on the screen. It was love at first sight! My passion for this sport continued even after I stopped competing and I have been coaching since 2011. Eleni and I supported Konstantina in pursuing her dream from day one. It wasn’t all plain sailing and there are so many stories to tell from those days, but it was an amazing time. I also work as a freelance accountant. So, as well as being a Naiad, I am also the team’s financial advisor and bookkeeper. Even now, I continue to participate in events with the Naiads, while keeping the books and helping the team with its finances. So, you may find me behind a desk with some glitter in my hair and a nose clip around just in case…

When I was a very little girl, I used to admire the girls dancing in the water as lightly as butterflies. So, at the tender age of four I had already started swimming in my local synchronised swimming team and by the time I was twelve I was a member of Greek National Synchronised Swimming team. After I stopped competing, Naiads started to take shape. The one thing that I really enjoy about being a Naiad, is that it allows me to keep doing what I love the most I truly believe that my love for the sport will never wane. Our passion for creating imaginary worlds, our constant exploration of new realities and our unquenchable thirst to constantly amaze our audience, generates a unique creative spirit and keeps the spark in all of us alive. We challenge ourselves to see things in a different perspective, and that’s tricky but we are all part of that creative prosses and we feel an overwhelming passion for our work and the team. I live on Crete permanently. It’s the biggest of the Greek islands and a world-famous travel destination. It’s a place of unparalleled natural beauty that never ceases to inspire and astound me.
